Do I need cash or travelers cheques when traveling in Israel?

Question: All I have is a credit card right now, will it be enough to travel throughout israel? Should I bring canadian currency and exchange it there or is US currency better? Do I have to have israely currency in cash to get by?

Answer: In Israel, you'll need Israeli currency. No one uses US dollars outside the US and it's military facilities. I recommend that you use travelers checks. Convert some money into Shekels at a bank before you go.
